| Background & Certification: Dr Tahir is a 1990 graduate of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria. He had his residency training in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery in University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital and University College Hospital Ibadan. He obtained his fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery in 2000. He had a post-fellowship clinical attachment in Vascular Surgery & Head and Neck reconstruction at UKE in Hamburg, Germany in 2002. He also had a clinical attachment in Cosmetic Surgery at Appollo Cosmetic Clinic Chennai, India in 2012. Dr Tahir is a visiting Consultant Plastic Surgeon to Federal Medical Center Yola, Adamawa. He served as Head of Department of Surgery College of medical sciences University of Maiduguri and University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital from 2012-2014. He is currently the head of Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in the same Hospital. He has attended and presented research papers in local and international scientific conferences. Dr Tahir has served NAPRAS as Treasurer, Secretary General, 1st Vice president and President. He is currently the ex-officio1. | |
