Only 1,800 to Be Selected: Kwara TESCOM Begins Teacher Interviews
Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has invited 5,928 people for interviews. These interviews are for those who want to become teachers in senior secondary schools.
TESCOM Chairman, Mallam Bello Taoheed, said the minimum score for Kwara indigenes who applied to teach non-STEM subjects is 60%. But for people from Baruten, Isin, Oke Ero, and Patigi, the cutoff is 50% because more teachers are needed in those areas.
“The cutoff for Kwara indigenes who applied to teach subjects like Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Computer, and Geography is 50%. This is to get enough teachers for these important subjects across all areas,” he said.
“All 93 people who applied from Kaiama Local Government Area are invited for the interview. Also, all 37 applicants who are Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWDs) and took the test are invited.
“For non-indigenes, the cutoff is 70% for all subjects.”
TESCOM told applicants to check the recruitment portal to know their status. The interviews will happen from Tuesday, February 25, to Saturday, March 1, 2025.
