Recruitment Gets Real as Kwara TESCOM Invites 9,459 for Final Selection Test
The Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) is inviting 9,459 applicants to take part in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) as the next phase of the teachers’ recruitment process. TESCOM will send text messages to these successful candidates on Monday, February 17, 2025.
Recall Kwara State Teachers tescom recruitment took place some weeks ago.
TESCOM Chairman Mallam Bello Taoheed explained that these shortlisted candidates met the key requirements, such as having relevant degrees like B.Ed., B.Sc. Ed., or B.A. Ed., or other related qualifications in education. Out of the 26,349 applicants who began the process, only 11,617 completed their applications. From this, 9,459 were selected after passing through the system’s checks, which filtered out those without the necessary qualifications or who exceeded the age limit.
The statement revealed that 8,319 (87.95%) of the shortlisted candidates are from Kwara State, while 1,140 (12.05%) are non-indigenes. Additionally, 45.80% of the candidates (4,332) applied to teach STEM subjects, highlighting the government’s emphasis on science and technology education.
In terms of gender, the applicants are almost evenly split, with females slightly outnumbering males. Out of the 9,459 candidates, 4,750 (50.22%) are females, while 4,709 (49.78%) are males. Furthermore, the process is inclusive, with 40 persons living with disabilities (PLWD) included in the list. Special care will be provided for these individuals at the CBT centres.
The CBT will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at various centres, including Thomas Adewunmi University, Oko; Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa; University of Ilorin; and several others across the state. Applicants are required to log in to the recruitment portal to select their preferred CBT centre and receive their exam schedule.
All candidates must print their examination slips from the portal and bring them to the designated centres. The exam will begin at 8:30 a.m., and candidates are expected to arrive at least one hour before their scheduled time.
TESCOM has emphasised that proper conduct before, during, and after the test will also be considered as part of the overall assessment for this public sector job opportunity.
